About

Meaghan O’Riordan is the Archivist for the Moravian Church, Southern Province, based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She started in this role in August 2022. From 2016-2022, she was the Accessioning Archivist for the Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives & Rare Book Library at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.

Her start in archives was at the Special Collections Research Center at North Carolina State University as a Library Associate while she earned her Masters in Library Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also holds a Masters in Theological Studies from the Candler School of Theology at Emory University and bachelor degrees in both English and religious studies from N.C. State.

She is the treasurer for the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Information and Library Science Alumni Association and is a Member-at-Large on the steering committee for the Society of American Archivists Accessioning, Acquisitions, and Appraisal Section. She is the founder and chair of the Airtable for Archives Community of Practice.

Meaghan is the co-chair of the IMLS grant-funded national working group to develop best practices for archival accessioning. She currently lives in Winston-Salem with her husband, Simon, and their elder statesman dog, Oliver.
